I mostly like taking pictures of cats and big cats in the zoo, but also try taking pictures of humans and nature.
Since I spent to amazing months in South Africa, I've also got some wildlife shots of cheetahs, leopards and various antelopes.

I think we all heard about Rhinos being poached in South Africa the last couple of year. The number has been decreasing the last couple of years. Last year, 668 rhinos have been poached. Up till now, this year the number's already at 587!…

Why do I tell you this? Until now, as terrible as these numbers are, it hasn't been more than that- just numbers. But a week ago, I got notice from my former work at Umkwali Tented Bush camp. One of their rhino bulls has been poached. I was in shock since I know how much effort they go through to protect their rhino.

Umkwali Tented Bush Camp:

"So we have been putting this off for a couple of days, we have been so busy on the projects and the reality of the situation has taken a while to set in properly. On Sunday 18th August a lone bull rhino was poached at one of the projects. We can talk about how sad and angered we are at this extreme act of violence which is true but spreading the word that an iconic animal is being taken from the people of South Africa everyday is much more appropriate at this stage. South Africans have to wake up to this news each day but the FACT is each day the rhino is being taken from all of us.

For those of you who have visited the beautiful continent of Africa and seen rhino in it's natural habitat your African experience was made complete, you'll tell your children and your grandchildren about that breath taking encounter. Well, the way things are going at the moment that is all it will be..... a story about an adventure that you had long ago because by the time it comes around for their turn to have a similar adventure every rhino will be EXTINCT....FACT! Seeing what we have seen in the last few days has been heart breaking and watching peoples reactions to the senseless butchery has been the hardest. Watching as they realise that what they are looking at is something you can't quite put into words but is visually leaves them numb and with a sense that something quite special is now gone from this earth.

Stop Poaching Rhino!"

"Hi Everyone! If you would like to donate to help aid the purchase of satellite collars for the remaining Rhinos on all our properties please use the PayPal link below. It belongs to our ex Zinglea project leader Lauren Perry. You can find her fundraising Facebook event below containing further information. She will also be selling Rhino Force Bracelets like the one pictured below for $10AUD with all proceeds going to this cause. She will happily post anywhere in the world. Please contact her for more details.

Please take some time to read through the fundraising page, it explains the idea of the radio collars nicely. If you've got some spare money, you might even think about buying a rhino bracelet?
